Donations
Donations from American Libraries: Volunteers from the "Turn Trash into Treasure, Recycling Children's Books" project seek libraries to donate books. Currently, there are over 78 Public Organizations that have donated books to this project.

Preparation

Preparation
Volunteers carefully package the books, and label and prepare the packages for shipment to Taiwan. The books are then loaded and driven to the shipping site, where they are packaged on a crate. Volunteers screen, count and pack books into box, and log the information on control sheets as the official documents to present to both Taiwanese and American customs agents for customs clearance. This work is done in one of the volunteer's garage, which is the main staging station for this project. After the books are packed in pallets and crates, the boxed books are sent to shipping company's warehouse in Jersey City, New Jersey where they will be loaded on a vessel to Taiwan.

Receiving

Receiving
Books are received by the libraries in Taiwan. The books are donated mostly to communities in mountainous, remote, and seaside areas that have limited transportation and limited monetary help from the government. Also, these donations help Aboriginal, and Hakka villages that are remote and do no have a budget for buying english books.
